Printing in combination with flash is not very comfortable. The PrintJob-class only allows to print a specific target instance. This example shows a customizable selection feature which allows users to define a specific area for printing. It uses the BitmapData-class and copies the area into a bitmap which was printed with the parameter "printAsBitmap". You can restrict it by presetting a minimum and maximum size of selected pixels. The selection could also be snapped to a virtual grid which can be fitted totally free. The info-tip shows detailed information of the current selected area (x, y, width, height). Just click the "Print..."-button to switch into selection mode and try to define an area by pressing the left mouse button, hold it and drag to a second point. Release the button and the preview dialog will be opened (of course only if the selection is valid). Source codeDownload
